Chapter 39: The Mercy of Light
Silas collapsed onto the freezing floor, his weapon systems rendered entirely useless. He looked up at Leo, waiting for the killing shot.
"Do it," Silas spat out a mouthful of blood. "Kill me the way you did my father."
Leo looked down at him, remembering the searing pain of losing his own father. Revenge was an endless, vicious loop.

Leo lowered his weapon. He pulled out a pair of magnetic restraints. "No. I won't give you that easy release. You will face international justice. You will be forced to sit in a cell and watch the world continue to grow and unite, despite your desperate attempts to break it."
Leo hauled Silas to his feet. "Because we are the Foundation. We heal; we do not destroy."
