Chapter 38: Command from the Rear
At that exact moment, Silas slammed his hand onto a hidden console switch. The heavy steel doors of the fortress began to slide shut. A self-destruct sequence had been initiated.
"If I cannot control the world, you will die buried in here with me!" Silas laughed maniacally.
From the Foundation headquarters, Isabella watched Leo's vitals on the screen, surrounded by a countdown timer to a massive explosion. She did not panic.
"Elias," Isabella's voice crackled through everyone's earpieces. "Activate the Icarus Protocol Override."

From low Earth orbit, a Foundation satellite unleashed a highly concentrated Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) beam, piercing straight through the mountain rock with absolute precision. Every electronic system in the fortress, including the detonators and The Eclipse's servers, was instantly fried. The room was plunged into pitch blackness.
