"I changed the passwords to the entire system," Nathaniel said, his voice flat.
Margaret's smile stiffened.
"What did you say?"
"The camera system. The financial system. The access codes to the elevators and the archive rooms."
He stepped forward, leaning down to look straight into her eyes.
"They are all under my control. You no longer have access."
Margaret tried to stand up, but the pain from her spine pulled her back.
"You dare strip me of my authority in my own house?"
"No, Mother," Nathaniel replied.
A pause.
"I am merely executing what the system demands. Stability."
He stood up straight.
