### Chapter 18: The Impotence of Outside Systems
The police returned the next morning.
They brought a search warrant for the server data.
The lead inspector walked in with the confident face of someone who thought they held the law.
He demanded the extraction of all data from the night of the accident.
Nathaniel stood with his arms crossed, not interfering.
Vivien personally plugged the hard drive into their computer and transferred the data.
But when the inspector opened the files on their machine...
Everything was empty.
No videos. No system logs.
Only a repeating error code:
ACCESS DENIED. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY COMPROMISED.
The inspector frowned.
"You deleted them?"
Vivien answered, her voice flat.
"We touched nothing. You are trying to force a closed system to open its doors to an outside network."
