A month after the trial, the noise had finally quieted down. The Whitlocks were completely bankrupt. Arthur Whitlock had resigned in disgrace and moved to a small rural town. Andrew was working a low-paying job at a logistics firm, living in a cramped one-bedroom apartment, completely forgotten by the high society he loved so much.
Clara stood in her private design studio. On the mannequin before her was the ruined Aria de Luna dress.
Chloe walked in, carrying two cups of coffee. "What are you going to do with it? Throw it away?"
Clara touched the torn lace gently. "No. Destructive acts shouldn't be hidden. They should be transformed."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm going to redesign it," Clara said, her eyes shining with creative fire. "I’m going to use gold thread to stitch the tears together. Like the Japanese art of Kintsugi. The cracks make it more beautiful, more resilient."
"That’s poetic," Chloe smiled. "And speaking of beautiful things... you have an invitation."

Chloe handed her a sleek, matte black card with a silver wax seal. It was from the International Fashion Council in Paris. They wanted Clara to headline the Paris Fashion Week with her new collection.
"It’s time to move on to bigger stages," Clara said.
