Chapter 10 - The Horizon of Grace

Two years later.

The summer sun beamed down on the sprawling green lawn of our Long Island estate. The sound of children's laughter echoed across the garden.

Five-year-old Maya was running through the grass, chasing three-year-old Leo, who was happily babbling as he tried to keep up with his older sister. Sitting on a blanket under the shade of a massive oak tree was Julian, wearing a casual linen shirt, watching our children with a peaceful smile on his face.

I walked out from the main terrace carrying a tray of fresh lemonade, wearing a light summer dress that fluttered in the warm breeze.

Julian stood up immediately, walking over to meet me halfway. He took the tray from my hands, setting it on a nearby table, and pulled me into his arms, kissing my cheek sweetly.

"How is my beautiful wife feeling today?" he asked softly, resting his large hands gently over my rounded stomach.

I smiled, placing my hands over his. "The doctor said the twins are healthy and growing fast. Another boy and another girl."

Julian leaned down and pressed a tender kiss against my pregnant belly, his eyes shining with profound happiness. "Four kids. Our house is going to be wonderfully loud."

"Just like a proper home should be," I laughed gently.

We walked over to the picnic blanket, sitting down together as Maya and Leo ran over, throwing themselves into our laps with giggles and hugs. Julian pulled all of us close, holding his family tightly in his arms.

I looked down at my hands—at the platinum wedding band resting securely on my finger—and then out at the safe, beautiful life we had built from the ashes of terror and grief.

Four years ago, I was a terrified woman sitting in premium economy with $274 to my name, clutching my sleeping daughter and running for my life. I had thought my story was over.

I didn't know then that standing up to a cold billionaire on a plane wasn't a mistake—it was the moment my destiny shifted forever.

I had walked past first class to save a baby, and in return, I had found a husband who adored me, a family that cherished me, and a love that would protect us for the rest of our lives.

Julian looked down at me, his gray eyes warm and full of eternal devotion. "I love you, Elena."

"I love you too, Julian," I whispered.

And under the warm afternoon sun, surrounded by the laughter of our children, our story finally found its perfect, unending grace.
