Chapter 3 - The Public Unraveling

The wedding ceremony was instantly thrown into absolute chaos. Guests pulled out their phones, snapping photos and recording videos that were already trending on local social media channels. The headline was writing itself: "Texas Businessman Confronted by Ex-Wife and Secret Triplets at Million-Dollar Wedding."

"This was supposed to be my day!" Olivia shrieked, tears smearing her mascara as she turned on her heels and ran back into the hotel lobby, her massive silk train dragging behind her.

"Olivia, wait!" David yelled, taking a step toward her, but Arthur blocked his path with a heavy hand against David’s chest.

"Don't bother," Arthur warned in a low, dangerous growl. "My daughter isn't marrying a coward who abandons his children. The wedding is off, and my firm is pulling its backing from your commercial property project by noon."

David stood frozen as Arthur marched into the hotel after his crying daughter, followed by half the guests who were murmuring in shock. Within minutes, the grand patio cleared out, leaving David standing among empty chairs, scattered white roses, and the photographers whose flashing lights felt like burning lasers.

David turned toward Emily, his fists clenched in desperate rage. "You did this on purpose! You came here to destroy my life!"

"You invited me, David," Emily reminded him gently, pulling her daughter closer to her side. "You sent the invitation with a handwritten note that said: 'Come see what a real life looks like.' I simply brought my family. If the truth destroyed your life, perhaps your life was built on a foundation of lies."

"Mommy, who is this angry man?" the little girl, Lily, asked softly, looking up at Emily with wide, innocent eyes.

Emily knelt down, smoothing Lily’s dress. "He's no one we need to worry about, sweetheart. Just someone from a very long time ago."

As Emily stood up to walk back toward the limousine, David grabbed her arm, his eyes wild with anger. "You owe me an explanation! Those are my kids! You can't just keep them from me!"

"Keep your hands off her," a stern, powerful voice echoed from the bottom of the stairs.
