Chapter 10 - THE EMPIRE RECLAIMED

Two years later.

The grand opening of the Vance Foundation for Women and Children was taking place at the newly renovated Greenwich Estate—the very place where Evelyn had once been thrown out into the snow.

The estate had been completely transformed into a state-of-the-art sanctuary offering education, housing, and legal protection for mothers in crisis. Hundreds of prominent figures, political leaders, and media organizations had gathered for the inauguration.

Evelyn stepped up to the podium on the front lawn. She wore an elegant royal blue gown, radiating authority, power, and genuine warmth. Next to the podium stood a marble statue depicting a mother holding two children, inscribed with the words: “From the Cold, We Rise.”

The crowd applauded wildly as she began to speak.

“True power isn’t about the money in your bank account, the titles on your business cards, or the legacy you inherit,” Evelyn said, her voice resonant and clear across the lawn. “True power is the ability to endure the coldest nights, protect the ones you love, and rebuild an empire out of ashes.”

She looked out into the crowd. Among the audience were dozens of women who had been given a second chance at life through her foundation.

After her speech, Evelyn stepped down and was joined by her children, now energetic two-year-old toddlers running playfully on the manicured lawn.

As she watched them play, Julian walked up beside her, handing her a leather folder.

“A final update, Ms. Vance,” Julian said quietly. “Grant Vale’s appeal was officially rejected today. Victoria’s parole request was also denied.”

Evelyn didn’t even open the folder. She simply tossed it into a nearby flame decorative pillar, watching the paper catch fire and turn into harmless ash blowing away in the wind.

“They belong to the past,” Evelyn said gently.

She picked up her sons, one in each arm, feeling the warmth of their laughter, the brightness of their future, and the absolute peace of a kingdom finally reclaimed.

The illusion was over. The empire was hers. And she would rule it with absolute love and unshakeable strength.
