Chapter 8 - THE BIRTH OF VALENTINA

On a bright, clear morning in early November, the time finally came.
I woke up at sunrise with strong, rhythmic contractions. Victoria was by my side instantly, calmly coordinating with our medical team. Within twenty minutes, I was settled into the private delivery suite at the coastal medical center.
Unlike my terrifying experience at the Villalobos mansion, this environment was filled with warmth, respect, and unconditional support. Victoria held my hand throughout every single contraction, whispering words of encouragement, wiping my brow, and standing as my rock.
"You are strong, Elena," she whispered as I pushed through the final wave of labor. "You are a Valentine. You can do this."
At 10:14 AM, a loud, healthy cry echoed through the room.
The doctor lifted the newborn baby and placed her directly onto my chest. She was beautiful—a tiny, perfect baby girl with dark blue eyes and a soft tuft of dark hair, looking up at me with fierce vitality.
"It’s a healthy baby girl," the doctor smiled, checking her vital signs. "A perfect eight pounds."
Tears of pure joy overflowed from my eyes as I cradled my daughter against my skin. Victoria leaned down, her own eyes glistening with tears, and kissed my forehead before kissing the tiny forehead of her granddaughter.
"What are you going to name her, Elena?" Victoria asked softly.
I looked at my mother, then down at the precious life in my arms—a child who had survived hatred and violence to enter a world of love and security.

"Her name is Valentina," I said, my voice filled with pride. "Valentina Hope."
Valentina represented the survival of our bloodline, the triumph over cruelty, and the beginning of a legacy built not on arrogance or social status, but on love, strength, and unwavering loyalty.
