Chapter 10 - A New Legacy

Six months later.
The estate had completely transformed. The cold, sterile security atmosphere had softened into a vibrant home filled with flowers, laughter, and life. The dark corridors that once echoed with hushed whispers of crime and strategy were now brightened by Emma’s colorful drawings hanging on the walls.
In the grand ballroom—the very room where five Mafia dons had once gathered in fear—a very different event was taking place.
Soft classical music echoed beneath the crystal chandeliers. Fragrant white roses lined the long aisle running through the middle of the room. The heads of the remaining East Coast families sat in the front rows, wearing pristine formal attire, but their faces bore no hostility today—only deep respect.
At the head of the altar stood Damiano, looking breathtakingly handsome in a bespoke black tuxedo. His gaze was locked entirely on the double doors at the back of the hall.
The heavy doors swung open.
Emma walked out first, dressed in a delicate white flower girl dress, carefully dropping rose petals onto the velvet carpet with a wide, beaming smile. Behind her, holding a bouquet of rare orchids, was me.
My gown was a masterpiece of lace and silk, trailing softly behind me as I walked toward the man who had risked everything to shield us from the dark.
When I reached the altar, Damiano took my hand, his fingers warm and steady. He leaned in, whispering so only I could hear, "You look stunning, my queen."
"And you look like a man who finally found his peace," I replied softly, smiling through happy tears.
The ceremony was short, beautiful, and profound. When the priest pronounced us husband and wife, Damiano pulled me into his arms, kissing me with a deep, passionate affection that drew cheers from every guest in the room.
During the reception, as twilight fell over the expansive gardens, Damiano and I stood on the grand terrace, watching Emma play tag with Matteo near the illuminated fountain.
Damiano wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, resting his chin gently on my shoulder.
"Six months ago, I thought my life was defined by duty, territory, and war," he mused softly into my ear. "I never believed I could have a real family."
I leaned back against his chest, covering his hands with mine. "And now?"

"Now, I have everything," he whispered, turning me around to capture my lips in a gentle, promises-filled kiss under the starlight.
The world outside our gates remained complex and dangerous, but within these walls, bounded by love and unyielding loyalty, our story had just begun.
