Chapter 5 - Dawn of the Storm

The titanium-and-glass skyscraper housing Marchetti Global loomed over the city skyline like a monolithic monument to power. The morning sun reflected blindingly off the top-floor executive boardroom windows, where the board of directors sat in tense, hushed anticipation.
Harrison Cole sat at the head of the long mahogany table, adjusting his gold-plated cufflinks with an air of absolute triumph. For months, he had orchestrated the intricate chess game: paying off Dr. Evelyn Vance, falsifying medical records to hide the triplets from Noelle, and planting them in Damian’s estate to create a manufactured scandal that would render the ruthless CEO unfit for office.
"Gentlemen," Cole announced smoothly as he checked his luxury wristwatch. "It is past nine o'clock. Mr. Marchetti is clearly absent, distracted by the chaotic circus of an unstable former waitress and three unverified infants. Under Section 4, I move to vote him out of the chairmanship effective immediately."
Murmurs of agreement rippled through the compromised board members on Cole’s payroll.
"I second the motion," said Marcus Vance, a minor stakeholder and distant relative of the corrupt doctor.
Cole smiled, raising the gavel. "Then it is unani—"
CLACK.
The heavy double doors of the boardroom didn't just open; they slammed violently against the reinforced walls, echoing like a gunshot through the silent room.
All heads snapped toward the entrance.
Walking through the doors was Damian Marchetti, dressed in a flawless obsidian three-piece suit, his expression carved from absolute ice. But it wasn't Damian that made the board members gasp in shock—it was the woman walking beside him.
Noelle Bishop wore a tailored, midnight-blue designer dress that Reyes had procured overnight, her posture straight, her chin held high, and her hazel eyes radiating an unshakeable, royal composure. Behind them walked Reyes and four armed security operatives, carrying secure briefcases.
"You're late, Damian," Cole recovered quickly, masking his sudden panic with a patronizing smirk. "And bringing an unauthorized civilian into an executive session? Security, remove this woman."
"Touch her, Cole, and I'll feed you your own fingers," Damian’s voice sliced through the room like a razor blade, stopping the corporate security guards dead in their tracks.
Damian and Noelle walked all the way to the head of the table. Damian didn't sit in his chair; instead, he pulled out the adjacent seat for Noelle, treating her with the deference of a queen.
"You can't do this, Damian!" Cole slammed his palms onto the table, standing up to assert dominance. "This is a corporate board meeting, not a family reunion! Who the hell does she think she is?"

Noelle looked up at Cole, her gaze locking onto the man who had ordered her children stolen from her arms a year ago. She didn't flinch.
"I am Noelle Bishop," she said, her voice clear, cold, and ringing with absolute authority. "And I'm here to reclaim everything you stole from me."
