Chapter 6 - The Promise Kept

One year later.
The autumn sun shone brightly over the gardens of the Vance Estate. The air was filled with soft orchestral music, the scent of fresh white lilies, and the joyous laughter of loved ones.
Gathered on the lawn were hundreds of guests—friends, charity leaders, and the entire student body and teaching staff of Saint Jude’s Academy.
At the altar under a canopy of white roses stood Julian Vance. He looked breath-taking in a classic black tuxedo, but pinned proudly over his heart—right where a pocket square usually rested—was a small, framed piece of glittery cardboard that read: Best Dad in the World.
The music shifted to a sweet, soaring melody.
Leo walked down the aisle first, dressed in a matching tuxedo, carrying the wedding rings with a proud, beaming smile. Following him was Mia, tossing rose petals into the air from a silver basket.
Then came Clara.
She walked down the aisle in a sweeping white lace gown, her face glowing with pure radiance and happiness.
When she reached the altar, Julian took her hands into his, his eyes shining with tears of absolute gratitude.
"Clara," Julian spoke, his deep voice carrying softly through the warm breeze. "I spent my entire life building an empire of glass and steel, believing that success meant never needing anyone. But a year ago, two brave children taught me that true power isn't built in boardrooms—it’s built on love. You and the twins gave me a home. I promise to cherish you, stand by you, and love you for all the days of my life."
Clara smiled, a tear sliding down her cheek. "Julian, you showed my children that they are worthy of being loved, protected, and fought for. You proved that family isn't defined by the blood in your veins, but by the love in your heart. You are our anchor, my love."
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the officiant declared warmly.
Julian pulled Clara into a deep, passionate kiss as the crowd erupted into roaring applause and cheers.
When they stepped back, Leo and Mia ran up to them, throwing their arms around their parents' waists. Julian bent down, scooping both twins up into his arms, kissing their cheeks as they giggled with pure joy.
"Hey, Dad?" Leo whispered into Julian’s ear as the crowd cheered around them.
Julian looked at his son, his heart full beyond measure. "Yes, Leo?"
"Thank you for saying yes that day at school," Leo said softly, hugging his neck tightly.

Julian held his family close under the warm sunlight, looking out at the bright, endless future ahead of them.
"Thank you for asking, son," Julian replied, his voice thick with emotion. "It was the best decision of my life."
