Chapter 9: The Reckoning

Chapter 9: The Reckoning

Suddenly, the massive steel doors of the warehouse were blown off their hinges with a deafening explosion.
Flashbangs illuminated the dark warehouse, blinding the hired mercenaries. Before they could react, Alexander's elite security team swarmed the building with military precision. Gunfire echoed through the rafters as Vanessa's hired thugs were quickly neutralized and disarmed.
Julian immediately threw his hands up, sobbing on the floor. "Don't shoot! I surrender! It was all Vanessa's idea!"
Vanessa, driven mad by greed and spite, grabbed a discarded pistol from the floor and pointed it directly at Lily's head. "Stay back! Stay back or I swear I'll pull the trigger!"
The smoke cleared, and Alexander walked calmly into the warehouse, flanked by Marcus. He didn't look afraid; he looked like judgment itself.
"Put the gun down, Vanessa," Alexander said, his voice deadly quiet.
"Never! You took everything from me!" Vanessa screamed, her eyes wild, her hand shaking against the pistol. "Give me the authorization codes for the rest of your estate, or the brat dies right now!"
From the side, Clara, who had disobeyed orders and slipped into the warehouse, saw an opening. She quietly grabbed a heavy iron pipe from a nearby shelf and crept up behind the distracted Vanessa.
With all her strength, Clara swung the pipe, striking Vanessa heavily across the arms. The gun fired harmlessly into the ceiling as Vanessa screamed in pain, dropping to her knees.

Before she could recover, Alexander was there. He kicked the gun away and pinned Vanessa to the floor under his heavy boot. He looked down at her with utter disgust.
"You will spend the rest of your miserable life in a maximum-security prison, Vanessa," Alexander said coldly. "And I will personally ensure that every single day there is a living hell for you."
