Chapter 5 - The Viral Exposure

By 8:00 AM the next morning, the domestic scandal had erupted across social media. David hadn't just filed a police report; he had authorized his legal team to release a redacted version of the living room security footage to the press, highlighting the discovery of the hidden compartment under the sofa.

The internet's reaction was immediate and ferocious. The story of a paralyzed husband discovering his wife's lover hiding inside a custom-made sofa compartment became the ultimate viral sensation on Facebook, accumulating millions of views, shares, and furious comments within hours.

Sarah and Julian found themselves trapped inside Julian’s small downtown apartment, unable to step outside due to the hoard of reporters and paparazzi blocking the building's entrance. The air was thick with mutual blame and venom.

"This is all your fault!" Sarah screamed, throwing a designer vase against the wall. "You were the one who suggested building that stupid compartment! You said it was a foolproof way to stay close to me!"

"Me?!" Julian yelled back, his face distorted with stress. "You were the one who couldn't control your temper! If you hadn't slapped your kid, she wouldn't have ripped the sofa cover off! I lost my career today, Sarah! My firm just fired me, and my bank accounts are being reviewed for corporate collusion!"

"We need to fight back," Sarah whispered, her eyes narrow and desperate. "David has the money, but I have leverage. I still have executive access to the Sterling Group's digital banking tokens from the branch I managed. If he wants to ruin my life, I’ll drain his company before the divorce court freezes the assets."

Julian looked at her, a dark, desperate grin forming on his face. "Can you do it without his security system noticing?"

"I have the master override passphrase he gave me on our fifth anniversary," Sarah sneered. "He thought it was a romantic gesture of absolute trust. Let’s see how much he trusts me when fifty million dollars vanishes from his corporate accounts."
