The Sterling family estate was bathed in the warm, golden light of a beautiful summer afternoon. The house had been completely transformed. A grand backyard barbecue was in full swing. Employees from the Sterling Group, close family friends, and neighboring families were laughing and chatting near the pristine swimming pool.
Sarah and Julian had been sentenced to ten years in a federal penitentiary for grand larceny, corporate espionage, and financial fraud, their names completely forgotten by the high-society circles they had desperately tried to exploit.
David sat in his wheelchair near a beautifully crafted wooden patio table, watching Lily run through the sprinkler system with her friends, her laughter echoing like music through the air.
Marcus walked over, handing David a glass of fresh lemonade. "The global rollout for Genesis crossed ten million users this morning, son. You’ve officially changed the world."
David took the glass, a genuine, radiant smile on his face as he looked out at his daughter. "I didn't want to change the world, Father. I just wanted to build a world where my daughter could grow up knowing that truth, loyalty, and love will always triumph over deception."
