Chapter 8 - The Raid on the Stronghold

Twenty-four hours later, the storm returned to the city, as if mirroring the violent climax of the Castillo-Moretti war. Dominic Vargaās syndicate, armed with the intelligence provided by Alejandro, launched a coordinated, devastating strike against all of Julian Morettiās illegal operations across the docks and distribution hubs.
Simultaneously, Alejandro and Marcus accompanied a joint FBI and SWAT tactical team to Julianās primary residenceāa heavily fortified penthouse overlooking the river.
The raid was explosive. Flashbangs and tactical breaches shattered the reinforced glass doors of the penthouse. Julianās private security detail was completely overwhelmed, caught between the federal raid and Dominic Vargaās street enforcers cutting off their escape routes.
Alejandro walked through the chaos, wearing a bulletproof vest, his eyes searching for the man who had caused his wife three years of unimaginable torment.
He found Julian in his private office, desperately trying to shred documents and wipe a master hard drive. When Julian saw Alejandro walk in, he reached for a gold-plated revolver on his desk.
Before his hand could touch the weapon, Marcus fired a single, precise shot that shattered Julianās wrist. The older man screamed in agony, collapsing against his mahogany desk, clutching his bleeding arm.
"It's over, Julian," Alejandro said, walking over and kicking the revolver away. He looked down at the pathetic, bleeding man who had once threatened to destroy him.
"You think... you think you've won?" Julian wheezed, his face contorted in pain. "Vivian will talk... sheāll take you down with her... she knows things..."
"Vivian just signed a plea deal ten minutes ago," Chief Deputy Vance said, entering the room with handcuffs ready. "When she realized her fatherās empire was burning to the ground, she turned stateās evidence to avoid life in solitary confinement. Sheās singing like a canary, Julian. Sheās tying you to the original kidnapping of Elena Castillo, human trafficking, and multiple counts of corporate fraud."

Julian fell back into his chair, his eyes glazed over with the realization of total defeat. Everything he had built, everything he had coveted, had vanished in less than forty-eight hours.
Alejandro leaned down, his voice a cold whisper meant only for Julianās ears. "You took three years from my wife. Now, the state will take the rest of your life. And every day you spend in a federal penitentiary, you will remember that a Castillo put you there."
