Chapter 6 - A Legacy of Truth

Two Years Later

The sun beat down brightly on the manicured gardens of the Moretti estate. The white roses were in full bloom, casting a sweet fragrance across the stone terraces that overlooked the sparkling Atlantic Ocean.

Laughter echoed across the lawn.

Emma, now five years old, was running through the sprinklers in a bright yellow sundress, her brown curls bouncing as she chased a golden retriever puppy across the grass.

On the terrace, a large white tent was set up for a celebration. But this was no cold, political gathering filled with fake smiles and champagne flutes. It was a family gathering filled with real friends, laughter, and music.

I stood near the edge of the terrace wearing a simple, stunning silk dress that flowed around my ankles. My hair was styled softly, and a diamond band sparkled on my left ring finger.

Alessandro stepped up behind me, wrapping his long arms around my waist, pulling me back against his broad chest. He rested his chin on my shoulder, watching our daughter play.

"She’s getting fast," Alessandro murmured with a soft laugh against my neck. "I might need to hire more security just to keep up with her in the yard."

"She gets her stubbornness from you," I teased, turning my head to kiss his cheek.

"And she gets her courage from her mother," he replied softly, looking down at me with absolute adoration.

Suddenly, a soft cry sounded from the wooden bassinet resting under the shade of the velvet canopy nearby.

Alessandro walked over gently, his large hands carefully scooping up our three-month-old son, Leo. He held the tiny baby securely against his chest, walking back over to stand beside me.

Leo had Alessandro’s dark hair and my hazel eyes. He was healthy, strong, and surrounded by a love that no amount of money could ever buy.

Emma came running over, her bare feet slapping against the warm stone tiles. She skidded to a stop beside us, reaching up on her tiptoes to gently touch her baby brother’s tiny hand.

"Look, Mama!" Emma beamed, pointing at Leo with her small finger. "Leo’s smiling at me!"

"He loves his big sister," I smiled, leaning down to kiss Emma's forehead.

Alessandro wrapped his free arm around my shoulders, pulling all of us tight into a single embrace under the bright Italian sun.

The dark days of lies, pillows, and dangerous shadows were long gone. In their place stood a family built on the unbreakable foundation of truth, protection, and a love that had reborn them all.
