Chapter 4 - The Assault on the EstateThe estate’s emergency sirens began to blare, casting flashing red lights across the third-floor hallway.

Alessandro didn't panic. His training and instincts as a leader took over instantly. He drew a heavy pistol from his shoulder holster and grabbed my arm.

"Marco, lock down the secondary perimeter! Get the snipers on the terrace!" Alessandro commanded, shielding me and Emma as we rushed out of the suite.

"They brought heavy weapons, Boss!" Marco yelled over the sound of distant gunfire echoing from the front gates. "They aren't here to negotiate! They know Vanessa is in federal custody—they came to erase the evidence and kill the maid!"

"They won't touch her," Alessandro growled.

He led us rapidly down a hidden staircase concealed behind a oak panel in the hallway. The secret passageway descended deep into the stone foundations of the mansion, ending at a massive steel vault door equipped with electronic keypads and biometric locks.

"Inside," Alessandro ordered, punching in a rapid sequence of security numbers. The heavy vault door hissed open, revealing a safe room stocked with food, communications equipment, and security monitors.

"Alessandro, you're coming with us!" I cried out, grabbing his sleeve as I pushed Emma inside.

He looked down at me, his eyes fierce and resolute. "I have to end this, Elena. If I hide in this vault with you, Sabatini will bring fifty more men tomorrow. This war ends tonight on my lawn."

"Please be careful," I sobbed, holding his hand tightly.

Alessandro reached up, his thumb gently wiping a tear from my cheek. "For the first time in my life, I have something worth coming back to," he whispered softly. "Lock the door from the inside."

He stepped back, and the heavy steel door slammed shut, sealing Emma and me safely within the soundproof bunker.

On the security monitors inside the vault, I watched the horror unfold on the estate grounds.

Dozens of Sabatini mercenaries clad in tactical gear were pushing up the driveway, firing automatic weapons at Moretti’s security team. Explosions rocked the front garden, destroying the fountain and sending stone splinters flying into the night air.

In the center of the conflict was Alessandro.

He moved like a phantom through the shadows of the estate terraces. Alongside Marco and his elite guards, Alessandro cut through the attackers with lethal, terrifying precision. Every shot he fired was calculated, taking down the mercenaries one by one as they tried to reach the main house.

On the main camera feed, I saw Julian Cole—Vanessa’s brother—holding an assault rifle, screaming orders at his men while trying to kick open the front oak doors of the mansion.

Julian was wild, desperate, knowing his life was over if he failed.

Through the camera feed, I saw Alessandro emerge from the dark side corridor behind Julian. With swift, brutal efficiency, Alessandro disarmed Julian, slamming him against the stone pillar before driving him to the marble floor.

The remaining Sabatini mercenaries, seeing their leader captured and their force decimated, retreated back down the driveway toward their vehicles, where Moretti reinforcements were already cutting off their escape.

The battle was over. The estate had held.
