Chapter 6 - A Toast to Eternity

The wedding ceremony was a masterpiece of elegance and joy.
With the ocean waves gently crashing against the shore, Ethan and Claire exchanged their vows under an arch of white orchids. There were no fake smiles, no corporate deals, and no hidden motives—only two people who had found light in the darkest storm.
When the officiant pronounced them husband and wife, Ethan pulled Claire into his arms and kissed her so deeply that the entire audience—including world leaders, celebrities, and hospital nurses who had cared for Lily—stood up in a roaring ovation.
Late that evening, as the grand reception was wrapping up under a sky full of fireworks, Ethan led Claire away from the crowds to the quiet, private terrace overlooking the dark sea.
The cool night breeze blew gently, rustling the silk of her wedding dress. Ethan stepped up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her back against his chest.
In his hand, he held two simple glass flutes filled with sparkling apple cider.
"Remember this place?" Ethan whispered in her ear, his lips brushing against her soft skin.
Claire looked out over the resort gardens below, remembering the terrified maid who had sprinted across the marble floor three months ago, risking her job and her life to shatter a glass of poison.
"I do," Claire smiled, turning in his arms to face him. "This is where my life began."
Ethan handed her one of the flutes. He raised his glass, his gray eyes filled with a deep, endless devotion that made her heart soar.
"A toast," Ethan said softly.
Claire raised her glass, clinking it gently against his—a soft, crystalline clink that echoed pleasantly in the quiet night air.
"To what?" Claire asked, her eyes shining.
"To the maid who shattered my glass..." Ethan whispered, leaning down until his lips hovered just a millimeter above hers. "...and built my entire world."

He kissed her softly, passionately, as colorful fireworks exploded across the dark night sky above them, illuminating their love in brilliant shades of gold, red, and silver.
The maid who had entered the palace to clean its floors had ended up saving its king... and together, they built a kingdom that no poison could ever destroy.
