Chapter 6 - The Calvary Arrives

The distraction caused Victor to hesitate for a split second, looking up toward the window. That second was all Colt needed. Fueled by a final surge of strength, Colt lunged forward, grabbing Victor’s wrist and redirecting the gunshot into the concrete floor. Colt used his weight to slam Victor against the wall, delivering a brutal headbutt that left the enforcer dazed.

Outside, the backyard was illuminated by the flashing lights of motorcycles and tactical flashlights. The Iron Outlaws, led by Colt’s second-in-command, a massive biker named Jax, breached the house from the rear. Within minutes, the remaining Syndicate members were completely overwhelmed and disarmed by the sheer numbers of the biker club.

Jax kicked open the coal chute frame from the outside, shining a light down. "Colt! You alive down there, brother?"

Colt, breathing heavily and wiping blood from his forehead, stood over a completely unconscious Victor. "Yeah," Colt grunted, picking up the steel briefcase from the corner where he had hidden it. "But we need to find the woman and the kid. They're in the woods."

The club moved fast. Using their bikes' high-powered beams, they illuminated the tree line. It didn't take long to find Sarah and Leo, who were huddled together behind a massive oak tree, trembling but unharmed. When Leo saw Colt walking toward them, flanked by his brothers, the little boy broke away from his mother and ran as fast as his legs could carry him, throwing his arms around the biker's leg.

"You saved us," Leo cried into Colt’s leather vest.

Colt knelt down, ignoring the pain in his shoulder, and wrapped his massive arms around the boy. "I told you, kid. As long as I'm around, nobody hurts you."
