Chapter 9 - Vows in the Sun
Six months later, the grounds of the Long Island estate were decorated with thousands of white orchids and silver ribbons for a private, exquisite ceremony.
Only fifty guests were invited—close friends, trusted associates like Marco and Sal, and a few fellow musicians from Elena's past. There were no armed guards in sight; the estate was secure, guarded by men who kept their distance to respect the sacredness of the day.
Elena walked down the aisle on the arm of Marco, who had become a trusted guardian to the family. She was breathtaking in an Italian silk gown that flowed like liquid silver, her chestnut hair styled in soft waves adorned with small pearls.
At the altar stood Matteo, looking exceptionally handsome in a tailored black velvet tuxedo. His eyes were fixed on Elena, filled with a devotion so absolute that the rest of the world seemed to fade away.
Standing beside him as the maid of honor was seven-year-old Sophie, wearing a matching white dress with a silver tiara in her hair, proudly holding the ring pillow.
