Chapter 10 - A Golden Dawn in Marbella

One year later.

The afternoon sun blazed golden over the Mediterranean coast, casting warm, brilliant light across the sprawling garden terrace of my villa in Marbella.

The ornamental hedges where I had once stood hidden in agony were now overflowing with vibrant, blooming pink roses—Isabella's favorite flowers, which we had planted together in the spring.

The mud was gone. The trash dumpsters near the garden edge had been removed and replaced with a beautiful, hand-crafted wooden gazebo overlooking the sea.

In the center of the lawn, a soft summer breeze rustled the leaves.

"Daddy! Look!"

Isabella came running across the lush green grass, her laughter chiming like silver bells. She wore a bright yellow sun dress, her hair flowing freely behind her, her face filled with radiant, unbounded health and happiness.

Her hands were completely healed, showing only faint, barely visible white lines—a distant memory of a storm that had passed.

She reached me and threw herself boldly into my arms. I caught her easily, spinning her around in the air as she giggled with pure delight.

"Look at what I made in art class today!" she said proudly, holding up a bright, colorful canvas.

It was a painting of a grand house, surrounded by blooming pink roses under a bright golden sun. In the center of the painting were two figures holding hands—a tall man and a small girl, both wearing massive, joyful smiles.

At the bottom, in neat eight-year-old handwriting, were the words: Home with Daddy.

I pulled her close, pressing a warm kiss to her forehead.

"It's the most beautiful painting I've ever seen, Isabella," I said, my voice thick with deep, genuine happiness.

"Are you going to hang it in your office?" she asked, her big brown eyes shining with hope.

"I'm going to hang it right above my desk," I promised her. "So every single day while I work, I remember what matters most."

We sat together in the wooden gazebo, eating fresh fruit and watching the blue ocean waves crash gently against the Spanish coastline. The trauma that had once threatened to consume our lives had been completely dismantled, replaced by an impenetrable fortress of love, security, and unshakeable trust.

I had stepped away from full-time international projects, reorganizing my real estate firm so that I never had to leave Spain for more than a few days at a time. My priority was no longer building empires of steel and concrete; my priority was building a life for my daughter.

Isabella leaned her head against my arm, watching the seagulls fly high into the clear blue sky.

"Daddy?" she whispered softly.

"Yes, sweetheart?"

"I'm glad you came home early that day."

May you like

I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, pulling her tight against my side, feeling the warmth of the sun shining down on both of us.

"Me too, Isabella," I smiled, looking out at the endless horizon. "Me too."
