Chapter 10 - The Legacy of Love

Ten years later.

The cemetery on the hill above Providence was quiet and peaceful, shaded by ancient oak trees whose golden leaves fell gently over the polished marble headstones.

Standing before a beautiful, clean white monument engraved with the name Claire Mendes was a tall, handsome thirteen-year-old boy. He wore a dark navy blazer, his broad shoulders already resembling his father's, his striking gray-blue eyes full of quiet, mature reverence.

Beside him stood Alessandro Moretti. His dark hair was now touched with distinguished silver at the temples, but his posture remained as strong and formidable as ever.

Lucas set a bouquet of fresh white lilies and dark red roses at the base of his mother's headstone.

"She would be so proud of you, Lucas," Alessandro said softly, resting his broad hand on his son's shoulder. "You passed your entrance exams for the academy with top honors."

Lucas looked down at the headstone, reaching into his pocket to touch the gold pocket watch he still carried every single day.

"I think about her a lot, Dad," Lucas murmured gently. "I wonder if she knows how happy we are."

Alessandro looked up at the clear blue sky above the autumn trees, feeling a warm, gentle breeze rustle the leaves around them.

"She knows, son," Alessandro said, his voice thick with a deep, serene certainty. "She watches over us every single day."

From down the stone path, Marco’s voice called out respectfully. "Boss! Master Lucas! The car is ready for the foundation opening!"

Lucas smiled, turning to look at his father. "Ready, Dad?"

Alessandro looked at his son—the boy who had saved his life, brought light into his dark world, and taught him the true meaning of power.

"Always ready, my son," Alessandro smiled warmly.

They turned and walked down the hill together, arm in arm, stepping into the bright, golden sunlight of a future built not on fear, but on an everlasting love.
