Chapter 4 - The Golden Cage Retorts
Victoria was not a woman who surrendered easily. Realizing her husband was pulling no punches, she launched a desperate counter-attack.
At 8:00 a.m., while trapped in the west wing of the mansion under security watch, she used a backup burner phone she had hidden to call her publicist and a tabloid reporter.
By noon, headlines began popping up online:
"HARRINGTON EMPIRE IN CRISIS: Billionaire Nathan Harrington Accused of Frame-Job Against Philanthropist Wife."
"Victoria Harrington Allegedly Held Against Her Will in Family Mansion."
Victoria intended to play the victim, leveraging her reputation as the beloved face of the Harrington Children's Foundation to turn public opinion against Nathan before he could go to the police.
When Marcus showed Nathan the news articles, Nathan didn't panic. He simply picked up his phone and called the Chief of Police directly.
"Chief Miller," Nathan said smoothly. "This is Nathan Harrington. I have a crime to report at my residence. I am requesting a team of detectives, child protective services, and a forensic team immediately."

"Nathan?" Victoria’s voice screamed from down the hallway as officers began arriving at the front gates an hour later. "Are you insane?! You'll destroy everything we built!"
Nathan stood at the top of the stairs as the police entered the grand foyer. "I built this empire, Victoria," he said coldly. "And I will burn it to the ground if it means protecting my children from you."
