Chapter 6 - The Only Empire That Matters

One year later.
The morning sun shone brightly over a beautiful, lush farm property in the rolling hills just outside Chicago.
Instead of a cold glass skyscraper, a charming two-story farmhouse stood surrounded by green grass, fruit orchards, and a brand-new, state-of-the-art community science center that Nathan had built for the local school district.
Out on the lawn, four-year-old Ethan and Noah were running through the grass, chasing a golden retriever puppy. Noah was wearing an official NASA astronaut helmet, while Ethan flew a model rocket high into the sky.
"Look, Dad! It’s going to the moon!" Ethan shouted, pointing at the sky.
Nathan stepped off the porch carrying two cups of fresh cinnamon coffee. He walked over to the grass, dropping to one knee as the boys ran into his arms, laughing hysterically.
"That rocket is going higher than any building I ever built, buddy," Nathan laughed, kissing both boys on the tops of their heads.
Emma walked out onto the porch, wearing a sun dress, her hair flowing naturally in the warm breeze. She looked youthful, happy, and entirely free from the heavy exhaustion that had once weighed her down.
Nathan stood up, walking over to his wife. He pulled her close by her waist, resting his forehead against hers as the children played nearby.
"Do you ever regret walking away from the three-billion-dollar deal?" Emma asked softly, a playful smile touching her lips.
Nathan looked out at his sons' bright, joyous faces, then down into the eyes of the woman who had saved his soul.

"I didn't walk away from a kingdom, Emma," Nathan whispered, pulling her into a sweet, deep kiss. "I finally built one."
Under the warm, golden sunlight, the King of Concrete had finally found the only foundation that would never crumble: a home built on unconditional love.
