Chapter 5 - The Downfall of a Tyrant

The next morning, the grand boardroom on the top floor of the Harrison Global tower was packed with board members, news crews, and high-stakes investors.

Victor Vance stood at the head of the marble table, a smug smile on his face as he addressed the cameras.

"Ladies and gentlemen of the press," Victor announced smoothly, "it is with great sadness that I announce the official removal of Nathan Harrison as CEO. Due to personal instability, Mr. Harrison has refused to execute the Singapore deal, forcing the board to step in—"

The heavy mahogany doors at the back of the boardroom slammed open.

Nathan Harrison walked in. He wasn't wearing his usual corporate suit. He wore a simple dark sweater and trousers. Behind him walked Emma, carrying a thick leather briefcase, flanked by two federal agents from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The boardroom erupted into chaos. Flashes exploded from dozens of news cameras.

"Nathan!" Victor sneered, keeping his composure. "You have no standing here! The board has already voted!"

"The board voted based on fraud, Victor," Nathan said calmly, walking to the center of the room.

Emma stepped forward, opening the briefcase and pulling out a stack of encrypted bank records. She handed them directly to the lead federal agent.

"While Victor Vance was busy trying to frame Nathan for corporate negligence," Emma announced, her voice ringing clear and authoritative across the silent room, "I used my position as a state educator to cross-reference Harrison Global’s charitable trust accounts. Victor has been siphoning offshore funds through shell companies in the Cayman Islands for over three years—totaling over eighty million dollars."

Victor’s face drained of all color. "That’s a lie! She’s just a school teacher!"

"She's a brilliant woman whom you severely underestimated," Nathan said, stepping right up to Victor, his eyes flashing with absolute triumph. "And thanks to her, the SEC has frozen all your personal accounts. You're finished, Victor."

The federal agents stepped forward, placing Victor Vance in handcuffs as the cameras captured every second of his public downfall.

Nathan turned to the stunned board of directors. "I hereby resign as CEO of Harrison Global. Sell my shares, distribute the capital to the employees' pension fund, and appoint a new leadership team. I’m done."

Without waiting for a response, Nathan turned on his heel, took Emma’s hand, and walked out of the corporate world forever.
