Chapter 9 - Building a Legacy

Six months later, the Moretti estate in Italy looked completely different.
The dark, oppressive aura that had suffocated the mansion for twelve long years was gone. The heavy velvet drapes had been replaced with sheer white curtains that billowed in the warm Mediterranean breeze. Laughter—something the estate hadn't heard in over a decade—now echoed through the grand hallways and sun-drenched gardens.

Elena looked up into his dark, loving eyes, smiling as she reached out to interlace her fingers with his.

"Do you ever regret returning to the syndicate life after everything?" she asked quietly.
Luca shook his head, his gaze steady and resolute. "Never. Because the power I hold now isn't used to cage people or rule through fear. It's used to protect the people I love. And nothing in this world will ever take that away again."
