Chapter 6 - The Beginning of Us

Two months later, the warmth of a perfect afternoon sun bathed the backyard of a charming cottage far away from the cold brick walls of the Morrison estate.
Sarah sat in a comfortable rocking chair on the porch, a soft breeze rustling her hair. Cradle in her arms was a beautiful, healthy baby boy with a thick tuft of dark hair and bright, curious eyes. They had named him Leo—meaning brave—a constant reminder of the strength that had brought them to this peaceful place.
Daniel walked out onto the porch, carrying two glasses of fresh lemonade. He set them down and knelt beside Sarah, gently kissing the baby's soft forehead before looking up at his wife with a radiant smile.
"He’s perfect, Sarah," Daniel whispered, wrapping his hand around theirs.
"He is," Sarah smiled, a tear of pure joy escaping her eye. "He’s going to grow up in a home where he is loved, where there are no secrets, and where his voice will always be heard."
The Morrison fortune had been liquidated, with the vast majority of the funds used to establish the Helena Morrison Legacy Foundation, a nationwide organization dedicated to protecting victims of domestic abuse and exposing financial coercion in wealthy families. Sarah had kept only enough to buy this quiet cottage and ensure a secure future for their son.
