Chapter 3 - The Viral Storm

By 8:00 PM, Daniel’s promise had been fulfilled with devastating precision.
An anonymous whistleblower account on Facebook had uploaded the raw audio file, overlaying the text of the transcription with a striking photograph of the Morrison family mansion. Within three hours, the post had accumulated over five million views, thousands of shares, and a wave of public fury that the Morrison family's public relations team couldn't hope to contain.
The headline on every local news broadcast was damning: “Prominent Philanthropist Thomas Morrison and Son Accused of Attempted Feticide and Financial Fraud.”

At the Morrison estate, the atmosphere was chaotic. Jason paced the length of the study, chewing his fingernails to the quick. "Dad, we have to run! The gates are surrounded by reporters, and my phone won't stop ringing! People are posting our home address online!"
Thomas sat behind his heavy mahogany desk, staring blankly at a bottle of scotch. For the first time in his life, his phone was dead silent. The political allies he had bought over the decades had blocked his number. The judges he had golfed with had released public statements condemning his alleged actions.
"We can't run, Jason," Thomas said, his voice hollow and raspy. "The federal government has frozen our accounts. They’re investigating the trust fund. They know we’ve been laundering money through the family charity to cover our corporate debts."
Suddenly, the heavy oak front doors of the mansion were kicked open. The sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the marble hallway.
A group of state troopers and federal marshals marched into the study, led by a stern-faced investigator holding a pair of handcuffs.

"Thomas Morrison? Jason Morrison?" the investigator announced. "You are under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder, federal wire fraud, and grand larceny. Hands where we can see them."
As the steel cuffs clicked around Jason's wrists, he began to sob, pleading with his father to save him. But Thomas only stared ahead, realizing that the kingdom he had built on lies and cruelty had collapsed in a single day.
