Chapter 10 - THE EVERLASTING LIGHT

Two years later.

The golden afternoon light filtered softly through the grand nursery windows of the Moretti estate.

Sophia sat in a plush velvet rocking chair beside the window, wearing a comfortable cashmere sweater, cradling a newborn baby boy in her arms. The baby had a tuft of dark hair and deep, curious eyes just like his father's.

His name was Leo Lorenzo Moretti.

The nursery door opened quietly, and Lorenzo stepped into the room. He had shed his suit jacket, wearing a soft white shirt, his eyes softening instantly as he looked at his wife and his newborn son.

He walked over silently, kneeling beside the rocking chair, placing his large hand gently over the baby's soft head.

"Is he sleeping?" Lorenzo whispered softly.

"Just fell asleep," Sophia smiled, leaning over to kiss Lorenzo’s lips gently.

Outside the nursery window, down in the grand gardens, nine-year-old Lily and ten-year-old Mia were playing soccer on the lawn with Marco, their happy, ringing laughter carrying through the open window into the warm summer room.

Lorenzo looked out at his daughters playing in safety and peace, then looked down at his newborn son, and finally looked into the eyes of the woman who had transformed his entire existence.

"Two years ago," Lorenzo murmured softly, reaching out to gently touch the ring on Sophia’s finger, "I was a man living in a cold, paranoid fortress, surrounded by enemies and fake promises. I thought my life was defined by shadows."

Sophia reached up, resting her hand against his cheek, her thumb gently tracing the sharp line of his jaw.

"And now?" Sophia asked softly, her heart overflowing with complete happiness.

"Now," Lorenzo smiled, kissing her deeply with unconditional love, "I live in the light. Because the invisible housekeeper became the queen of my heart, and the savior of my soul."

Sophia leaned her head against Lorenzo’s shoulder as he wrapped his strong arms around her and their baby boy, watching their daughters laugh in the garden below—a family built on courage, protected by devotion, and blessed with an everlasting, unbreakable love.
