Chapter 5 - The High-Society Collapse

The downfall of Victoria Harrington was swift, calculated, and absolute. Nathan did not let the media control the narrative; he controlled it himself.
The next morning, Nathan called an emergency meeting of the Harrington global board of directors. Before Victoria could even contact her lawyers, Nathan presented the financial forensic evidence of her embezzlement. By noon, the board had stripped her of her title as co-chairwoman and completely frozen her access to any corporate or marital assets.
Victoria tried to fight back. She hired the most expensive public relations firm in New York to release a statement claiming Nathan was a controlling, emotionally unavailable husband who was fabricating lies to take sole custody of their children.
But Nathan was three steps ahead.
Instead of engaging in a mudslinging match in the tabloids, Nathan handed the recovered security footage and the forensic financial files directly to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the District Attorney’s office.

Two days later, as Victoria was attempting to board a private charter plane to a non-extradition country using a secondary passport she had hidden, federal agents intercepted her on the tarmac. The cameras of a dozen news outlets—tipped off anonymously—were there to capture the moment. The "perfect wife," the "angel of philanthropy," was led away in handcuffs, her designer jacket draped over her wrists to hide the steel restraints.
The public shock wave was massive, but Nathan issued only one statement to the press: “My priority is, and always will be, the protection and healing of my children. The truth has spoken, and justice will take its course.”
