Chapter 7 - The Final Siege

The storm broke over the city at midnight, heavy rain and thunder rolling through the sky, completely blinding the estateās thermal imaging sensors. The mercenaries stationed outside the main villa were alert, their fingers resting on the triggers of their automatic weapons, their eyes scanning the dark tree lines.
Suddenly, the estate's main power transformers exploded in a brilliant flash of blue light. The entire perimeter was plunged into absolute darkness. The backup generators tried to fire up, but Silas had already introduced a destructive logic worm into the fuel delivery valves. The engines sputtered and died.
"Engage night vision! Stay in your sectors!" the mercenary commander shouted over his radio.
But the night vision goggles were useless. Jack had deployed multiple tactical smoke canisters across the lawn that emitted an aerosol compound that scattered infrared light, turning their night-vision screens into a blinding blur of green static.
Then came the takedowns. Moving with the speed and precision of a Delta Force tier-one operator, Jack neutralized the exterior guards one by one, using non-lethal kinetic strikes and stun devices. He didn't fire a single bullet, yet within twenty minutes, over eighty heavily armed mercenaries were lying unconscious in the wet grass, completely incapacitated.
Inside the main villa, Harold and Lucas stood behind the reinforced steel doors of the panic room, watching the security status lights turn from green to red on their battery-powered tablet.
"He's through the lobby," Lucas panicked, his voice high-pitched with terror. "Father! He's outside the door!"
A heavy, deliberate knock rattled the reinforced steel door of the panic room. It wasn't a violent kick; it was three slow, rhythmic raps that sounded like a funeral toll.
"Harold," Jackās voice came through the external intercom system, entirely unbothered by the chaos outside. "Open the door. Your empire is gone. Your sons are processed. Itās time to settle the family matter."
"Go away!" Harold screamed, his old-money arrogance completely replaced by the pathetic desperation of a trapped rat. "This door is made of military-grade titanium! You can't blow it up! You have no authority here!"
"I don't need explosives, Harold," Jack replied smoothly. "Lucas, check your personal offshore account registry. The one you thought I didn't know about."
May you like
Lucas frantically typed on his phone. His face drained of what little color it had left. "Father... he didn't freeze the account. He... he transferred the remaining assets to the federal asset forfeiture pool. If we stay in this room, we are completely broke, and the feds will arrest us for treasonous financial fraud anyway."
Realizing the game was completely over, Lucas dropped his weapon and hit the electronic release switch. The heavy titanium door slowly slid open, revealing Jack standing in the dim corridor, his black tactical uniform wet from the rain, his eyes locking onto the architect of his wifeās suffering.
