The months that followed were a relentless avalanche of justice.
The criminal trial of Jeffrey Vance and his co-defendants dominated the local news headlines for weeks. What Jeffrey had hoped to keep hidden behind corporate non-disclosure agreements was laid bare for the entire world to see.
During the trial, forensic audits revealed that Noelle Vance had been actively stealing from a local children's charity she chaired to fund her personal gambling debts in Biloxi, while Cynthia had funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars from Vance Holdings into offshore crypto wallets.
The jury deliberated for less than two hours.
Jeffrey Vance was convicted on all counts of grand larceny, corporate fraud, and felony child neglect. He was sentenced to twelve years in a state penitentiary, with no possibility of parole for the first eight years.
Noelle Vance, despite her age and health appeals, was sentenced to six years for her direct role in the physical abuse and neglect of Liam. The grand socialite who had spent her life looking down on others was assigned to a medium-security women's facility outside Macon.
Cynthia Miller received four years of probation and an order of full financial restitution after agreeing to turn state's evidence against Jeffrey during the final financial fraud hearings. She was blacklisted from every corporate firm in North America, reduced to working entry-level clerical jobs under court supervision.
Vance & Company was formally dissolved. I bought its viable operational divisions through my London holding firm, rebranded the entire enterprise as L.V. Global Infrastructure—named after my son, Liam Vance—and restructured the executive board to ensure ethical oversight and complete transparency.
The Buckhead mansion, the scene of so much cruelty, was completely demolished. I hired a demolition crew to tear down the walls, crush the dark mahogany dining table into splintered wood, and donate the land to the city of Atlanta to build a public children’s park and therapy garden.
