Chapter 3 - The Architecture of Lies

The investigation was swift and brutal. Within hours, Elias’s security team had the footage. They saw it all: Vivian turning her back on a gasping Noah, her meeting with the man in the black sedan, the hand-off of a designer bag, and her calculated walk toward the park gate.

The "accident" was a masterpiece of cold-blooded cruelty.

When Elias confronted Vivian in the private executive lounge of the hospital, he didn't yell. He didn't break things. He went quiet. It was the silence of a man whose world had just been razed to the ground.

"You tried to kill him," Elias said, his voice devoid of all emotion.

Vivian laughed, a brittle, high sound. "I tried to secure a future, Elias. You were too obsessed with that boy to ever truly belong to me. And after the divorce, or after he passed... you would have realized how much you needed me."

"You are a monster," Elias whispered.

"I am a woman who knows what she wants," she countered.

He had her arrested before she could even gather her coat. The sight of her being led away in handcuffs, her perfect blonde hair disheveled, gave him no joy—only a profound, hollow sense of loss for the man he had been: the man who didn't see the wolf sitting right next to him.
