Chapter 10 - The Letter
A year after that terrible night, Linda sent a long letter. She had been in therapy. She admitted her resentment, her exhaustion, her mistakes. She asked for forgiveness, not to return to our lives fully, but to be allowed to love her granddaughter safely.
Clara read parts of it with me. “Grandma is sorry?”

“Yes,” I said. “And we can forgive, but we stay safe.”
We agreed to occasional supervised visits. Boundaries clear. Love possible again, but earned.
