Chapter 8 - Confrontations and Closure
Natalie tried one last time. She showed up at Clara’s school, trying to speak to her. Security called me immediately. I arrived furious but controlled.
“You have no right,” I told her. “Leave us alone.”
She screamed accusations, but this time people saw the truth. Witnesses. Security footage. The school banned her.

Linda completed her classes. Her letters arrived, filled with apologies and promises. I read them to Clara when she was ready. We allowed one supervised visit at a park. Clara was cautious but forgiving in the way only children can be. I watched every second.
