Chapter 5 - The War for Chicago

Within twenty minutes, three black SUVs roared up the driveway, spray spraying high into the air as they slammed to a halt.
Silana stepped out of the lead vehicle. He wasn't wearing his suit jacket; his collar was open, his sleeves rolled up, revealing the dark ink on his arms. His face was a mask of terrifying, demonic rage.
He stormed into the grand foyer where Bella was sitting, clutching Leo tightly, surrounded by four armed bodyguards.
"Bella!" Silana called out, his voice echoing through the vaulted space.
He rushed over to her, grabbing her shoulders and scanning her frantically for any sign of injury. "Did he lay a hand on you? Did he touch the boy?"
"No! No, Silana, we're okay!" Bella cried out, holding Leo close. "Dominic saw him before he could get through the glass. He ran into the woods."
Silana let out a long, murderous breath. He reached out and gently cupped the back of Leo’s head, validating that the boy was unharmed, before looking up at Dominic.
"Did the perimeter sensors pick up his exit route?" Silana asked, his voice chillingly low.
"He didn't come alone, Boss," Dominic reported, his face grim. "Our thermal cameras caught three vehicles parked half a mile down the ridge line. Castellano's men picked him up. David Miller sold them the layout of our North Garden security blind spots."
A heavy, suffocating silence fell over the foyer.
The treason was complete. David Miller had officially aligned himself with the Castellano family, trading information about Silana’s home and Bella’s presence to clear his own debt.
"They think they have a leverage point," Silana said softly, a dark, terrifying smile touching his lips. "They think threatening you and Matteo's face will make me bow."
He turned to his capos standing behind him in the foyer.
"Mobilize every soldier," Silana ordered, his tone ringing with absolute, ruthless authority. "Contact the capos in the Southside. Shut down every Castellano-owned club, dock, and warehouse in the state. I want their business burned to the ground before sunrise."
"And David Miller, Boss?" Dominic asked.
Silana looked at Bella. For a fraction of a second, his dark eyes asked her an unspoken question: Do you want him spared?
Bella looked down at her small, innocent son—a child David had abandoned to die, a child David was now willing to use as a pawn for cartel violence. She raised her eyes, looking directly into Silana’s dark gaze, her expression hardening with the protective fury of a mother.
"Do what you have to do to keep my son safe," Bella said clearly.

Silana nodded slowly, a look of profound respect burning in his eyes.
"Bring me David Miller alive," Silana commanded Dominic. "I want him to answer for every tear he made her cry."
