Chapter 10 - The Legacy of Love

One year later.
The ocean waves crashed gently against the golden sands of the Long Island shore. The late afternoon sun painted the horizon in shades of warm orange, pink, and purple.
A large white wooden gazebo stood at the edge of the estate's private cliff overlooking the water.
A small, intimate family gathering was taking place. Nina and Marco were standing by the grill, cooking fresh seafood, laughing as they watched the golden retriever chase gulls along the beach below.
In the center of the gazebo, a brand-new wooden cradle stood beside our marble bench.
I stood by the railing, holding two-year-old Lily in my arms. She was wearing a tiny yellow sundress, pointing excitedly at a sailboat gliding across the blue water.
"Look, Mommy! Boat!" Lily squealed, her vocabulary growing bigger every single day.
"Yes, baby, a big boat," I smiled, kissing her soft cheek.
Victor stepped up behind us, wrapping his massive arms around both of us, holding us tight against his broad chest. In his hand, he carried a small, beautifully framed black-and-white photograph.
It was an old photograph Nina had uncovered from an old Rossi estate archive—a picture of my mother, Elena Rossi, when she was nineteen years old, sitting in a flower garden, smiling brightly at the camera with the silver locket dangling around her neck.
Victor set the photograph gently on the small table inside the gazebo, right beside a fresh bouquet of yellow sunflowers.
"She would have loved this garden," Victor said quietly, staring at the photograph with a peaceful smile. "She always loved the sea."
"She's here with us, Victor," I whispered, reaching out to touch his face. "In Lily's eyes... and in the peace we've built."
Suddenly, a soft whimpering cry echoed from the wooden cradle inside the gazebo.
Victor smiled warmly, letting go of me and walking over to the cradle. He reached down with incredible gentleness, lifting a tiny, newborn baby wrapped in a soft blue blanket into his broad arms.
Our two-month-old son, Leo Carmelo Moretti.
Victor held our baby boy against his chest, rocking him gently while Leo's dark blue eyes opened, staring up at his father with quiet trust.
I walked over, holding Lily’s hand as she toddled beside me, stopping next to Victor.
Lily leaned over the edge of the blanket, poking her little brother's soft cheek. "Baby Leo!" she giggled happily.
Victor looked down at our little family—his gorgeous wife, his energetic daughter, and his baby son. The man who had once been the most feared mob boss in New York, a man who had spent twenty years trapped in darkness and regret, now stood surrounded by endless light, warmth, and love.
He looked up at me, his eyes filled with tears of pure, unadulterated happiness.
"I love you, Hannah," Victor whispered, pulling me and Lily close against him, cradling baby Leo between us. "Thank you for saving my life."

"I love you too, Victor," I replied, leaning up to kiss his lips while our two children laughed softly in the warm autumn sun.
The silver locket around my neck caught the golden light of the setting sun, flashing brightly over the ocean—no longer a symbol of mob bloodlines, money, or dark secrets, but a shining emblem of redemption, family, and a love that had conquered the darkest night.
