Chapter 7 - The Phoenix from the Ashes

Three days after the raid on the sanatorium, the sky over New York finally cleared, leaving behind a crisp, golden autumn sunset.
The DeLuca estate had been completely purified. Every trace of treason, every corrupt servant, and every memory of the dark eight months had been systematically erased. Don Salvatore Moretti’s syndicate had ceased to exist overnight—its territories absorbed, its leaders imprisoned or eliminated, its power crushed beneath the absolute fury of the unified DeLuca family.
In the master bedroom of the mansion, soft sunlight streamed through the tall stained-glass windows.
Isabella sat propped up against plush silk pillows on the King-sized bed. Color had returned to her cheeks, her chestnut hair washed and brushed, smelling of sweet roses. In her arms, she held baby Bella, who was greedily drinking from a bottle, her tiny fingers tangled in her mother's nightgown.
Isabella couldn't stop looking at her. She traced the baby’s tiny nose, her dark curls, her soft feet, weeping tears of pure, unadulterated gratitude.
"She looks just like you," a soft voice spoke from the doorway.
Isabella looked up. Lorenzo was standing there, dressed in a simple dark sweater and trousers. He looked younger. The heavy, dark circles under his eyes were gone, replaced by a deep, quiet peace that had been missing for years.
Beside him stood Sophia and little three-year-old Emma, holding her gray stuffed rabbit.
"Isabella," Lorenzo said softly, leading Emma toward the bed. "There is someone you need to meet. The little girl who saved our family."
Isabella handed the baby gently to Lorenzo and opened her arms to little Emma. Emma climbed up onto the edge of the mattress, looking at the beautiful woman with wide, curious eyes.
"Are you the candlelight lady?" Emma asked innocently.
Isabella smiled through her tears, pulling the little girl into a warm, tight embrace. "I am, sweet girl. And you are my little angel."
"I told the angry man you were coming back," Emma whispered, hugging Isabella's neck. "He stopped being angry."

Isabella looked up at Lorenzo over the child's shoulder, her eyes full of profound emotion.
That night, Lorenzo announced that Sophia and Emma would never work as house staff again. He bought them a beautiful estate on the coast, provided Emma with a trust fund that guaranteed her future, and made Sophia the manager of the family's charitable foundation. They were no longer staff; they were family.
