Chapter 4 - The Digital Execution

The foyer seemed to hold its breath.
Victor stared down at the tablet screen. On the high-definition display, every single second of the horrific scene played out in crystal-clear detail: Serena pulling Ethan by the arm, the toddler’s agonizing screams, Lily diving in to protect him, the brutal kick to Lily’s stomach, and finally, Serena’s frantic, calculated transformation into a hysterical victim the moment the front door clicked open.
The silence in the room grew so heavy it felt tangible. You could hear the distant ticking of the grandfather clock in the study.
Victor’s face remained a mask of absolute, terrifying serenity. But the air around him grew heavy, charged with the suffocating pressure of a coming storm. When he finally raised his head, his ice-blue eyes were fixed on Serena. It was the look of a predator staring at a dead animal.
"Victor..." Serena whimpered, dropping heavily to her knees once more, her manicured fingers trembling as she reached for his polished shoes. "Please... I-I was stressed. The wedding planning, the pressure of the syndicate families... it got to me. I love you, Victor! I love Ethan!"
"You touched my son," Victor whispered. His voice was barely a breath, yet it carried the weight of a death sentence. "You lied to my face. And you thought you could use my own home as a slaughterhouse for an innocent child."
He turned his gaze toward Marcus. "Take her to the East Wing basement. Lock her in the holding cell. Confiscate her phone, her jewelry, and her car keys. Clear her belongings out of the master suite before midnight."
"Understood, Boss," Marcus said, stepping forward with grim efficiency. He grabbed Serena by the arm with an iron grip.
"No! Victor! You can't do this to me! My family will destroy you! The Montigue syndicate will—" Serena’s screams echoed wildly as Marcus dragged her across the marble floor, her expensive heels clicking helplessly against the stone until the heavy oak doors of the East Wing swallowed her frantic wails.
Victor didn't even blink as the door slammed shut.
Slowly, deliberately, he turned his attention back to the floor. To Lily.

Lily was still kneeling there, her body aching, her heart hammering against her ribs. She braced herself for whatever wrath the mafia boss might unleash next. After all, she had witnessed his darkest family secrets exposed.
Instead, Victor knelt down on one knee, ignoring the expensive fabric of his trousers brushing against the dusty marble.
