Chapter 10 - The King Who Learned to Listen

Six months later...

The sun was setting over the Hudson River, painting the sky in brilliant shades of amber, violet, and gold.

On the wide stone terrace of the Blackwood Estate—the very terrace where a barefoot three-year-old girl had once stepped out from behind a velvet curtain to save a king’s life—a long wooden table was set for dinner.

White lilies overflowed from silver urns, filling the evening air with their sweet, heavy scent. But tonight, there was no fear, no hidden poison, and no enemies lurking in the dark.

Lily, now nearly four years old, sat at the center of the table, giggling uncontrollably as Alessandro helped her scoop a generous portion of strawberry ice cream into her bowl. She wore a bright yellow summer dress, her dark curls bouncing with every laugh.

Rosa stood nearby, leaning against the stone balustrade, watching them with a profound, radiant peace settling deep within her soul.

Alessandro looked up from Lily, his dark eyes drifting across the table to meet Rosa’s. He didn't use words—he didn't need to.

With deliberate, graceful precision, Alessandro raised his hands and signed across the table:

Thank you for saving my life. Thank you for making this house a home.

Rosa smiled, her eyes shimmering with happy tears. She raised her hands and signed back:

Always, my king.

Alessandro stood up, walked over to where Rosa stood, and gently took her hand in his. He didn't smile with a wide grin—that wasn't his way—but the warmth in his dark eyes told her everything she would ever need to know.

The king who had spent twenty years locked behind a wall of silence had finally found a language that mattered. And as the stars began to ignite across the evening sky, the Moretti empire stood stronger than ever—not built on fear, but on truth, loyalty, and love.
