Chapter 19
Chapter 19: The Purge
Friday morning. The atmosphere in the boardroom was as taut as a bowstring. Arthur sat to my right, looking incredibly smug.
"Before we begin the financial reports," Arthur suddenly stood up, interrupting my opening remarks. "I propose a vote of no confidence regarding Elena Voss's position as CEO. I have evidence showing she intends to impulsively sell off company assets, severely damaging shareholder interests."
Murmurs erupted. A few board members—those bought by Arthur—began nodding in agreement.
I didn't stand up. I simply swiveled my leather chair, looking him dead in the eye.
"The evidence you're speaking of, is it the plan to sell the Asian branch?" I pressed a button on a remote. The large screen behind me lit up. Instead of a financial report, it displayed a flowchart of cash flowing from Arthur's Cayman trust, connecting directly to shady trading accounts designed for market manipulation.

Arthur's complexion went from ruddy to bone-white.
"The plan to sell the branch was just a lure," I said, my voice echoing through the dead-silent room. "And you walked right into the trap. Ladies and gentlemen, what you are seeing is proof of Arthur Voss's financial fraud and conspiracy to manipulate stock prices. The Securities Commission and Economic Police are waiting in the lobby downstairs. Uncle Arthur, you're fired."
