Chapter 18: Setting the Trap

Two days before the meeting, I took the initiative to invite Arthur to dinner at Le Petit—a restaurant that used to be my father's favorite.

Arthur arrived with his usual dignified air, a perfectly tailored suit, and a fake smile that hid his venom. "My dear niece, you look as radiant as ever. I'm glad Jackson's dark shadow is finally behind us."

"Thank you, Arthur," I took a sip of still water. "I invited you here because I need your help. I plan to announce the sale of our Asian manufacturing branch. It's operating at a loss, and I want to use those funds to consolidate power within the parent company."

Arthur's eyes flickered with unconcealable greed. If the Asian branch was sold, the stock price would plummet in the short term—a golden opportunity for him to use the Cayman funds to buy up cheap shares and overthrow me.
