Chapter 10 - The Unbroken House

The sun dipped below the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps, casting a brilliant golden glow across the manicured lawns of the Rossi estate.
Inside the grand ballroom, the crystal chandeliers burned bright and warm, reflecting off polished marble floors that no longer held any dark secrets. There were no hidden doors, no whispered conspiracies, and no ghosts lurking in the shadows.
Tonight, the mansion was filled with life.
Laughter echoed from the dining hall where Sophia was excitedly recounting a school story to our visiting estate managers, while little Leo—now walking steadily on chubby legs—chased a golden retriever puppy across the Persian rugs, his giggles bubbling up like spring water.
I stood by the grand staircase, holding a crystal glass of bourbon, looking up at the newly restored family portraits.
Elena walked up beside me, slipping her hand into mine. Her fingers were warm, steady, and entirely real.
"What are you thinking about?" she asked softly, resting her head against my shoulder.
"I was thinking about the night I found him in the trash shed," I admitted quietly. "How close we came to losing everything because we trusted the wrong monsters."
Elena squeezed my hand tighter, her gaze shifting toward our son playing by the fireplace.
"We didn't lose everything, Dante," she whispered, her voice filled with profound peace. "We lost the illusion. But we found each other. And we found the truth."
I looked down at her, smiling as I raised my glass toward the warm light of the ballroom.
The storm that had threatened to tear our world apart twelve years ago had finally passed. The past was buried where it belonged, the monsters were locked away, and our home—tested by fire, blood, and betrayal—stood stronger than ever.
We had built an empire of fear across Europe.
May you like
But inside these walls, we had finally built something far greater: a home where love, truth, and family reigned supreme.
And no power on earth could ever tear it down again.
