Chapter 5 - The Reconstruction

With the Cross family officially removed from the board, Isabella wasted no time in restructuring the ruined company.
She held a live-streamed press conference from the Montrose Towers, which was broadcasted to millions of viewers online. The event quickly trended across social media, praised by business analysts and the general public alike as a masterclass in corporate takeover and female empowerment.
"Cross Enterprises will be officially rebranded as Montrose Legacy," Isabella announced to the flashing cameras. "We are canceling all predatory high-interest contracts, raising the wages of our ground-level employees by twenty percent, and shifting our core investments into green energy and affordable housing."
The response was overwhelmingly positive. The stock of the newly minted Montrose Legacy surged by fifty percent in a single day, recovering all the losses incurred during Damian’s disastrous final months.
Meanwhile, justice was swiftly served to those who had wronged her.
Vanessa Hale was arrested at the airport attempting to board a flight to Switzerland. Charged with corporate espionage, fraud, and theft, her family's company, Hale Industries, publicly cut all ties with her to save their own reputation, leaving her to face a lengthy trial with only public defenders.
Evelyn Cross was forced to relocate to a modest two-bedroom apartment in the suburbs, funded by a small trust her late husband had set up that Isabella chose not to touch—an act of mercy Evelyn spent her days bitter about, realizing she was now living on the very charity she had once mocked.

With his pride shattered and his wealth gone, he took a low-level consulting job in a distant city, forever haunted by the memory of the woman he had thrown away.
Isabella, however, was just beginning her true journey.
