Chapter 8 - Reclaiming What Was Lost

With Marcus behind bars and Chloe facing civil suits that stripped her of every gift Marcus had ever bought her, Isabella turned her full energy toward restoring her family’s legacy.

She personally visited every hotel in the chain, meeting with line staff, housekeepers, kitchen workers, and security personnel—the very people Marcus had ignored for a decade. She raised minimum wages, instituted profit-sharing programs, and named key long-term employees to executive leadership roles.

Under her direct leadership, Vance Hospitality Global didn't just survive the scandal—it flourished. Stock values reached an all-time high, and the brand became synonymous with integrity and luxury.

One afternoon, Isabella walked into her mother’s restored garden at the estate her father had built in the countryside. The sun shone bright through the white pillars of the manor.

Her father walked out to join her, holding a velvet box.

"This came back from the police evidence locker today," Arthur said, opening the box to reveal the antique sapphire brooch. It sparkled brilliant blue under the sunlight.

Isabella took the brooch, her fingers tracing the intricate silver filigree.

"I thought about selling it once, years ago," Isabella murmured. "When Marcus first asked for money for his first hotel project. I almost sold my mother’s brooch to fund him."

"I'm glad you kept your secrets, my dear," Arthur said softly. "Patience is the greatest weapon of the wise."

"It wasn't just patience, Father," Isabella said, pinning the brooch over her heart. "It was knowing my own worth."
