Chapter 5 - The Viral Retaliation

"They're going to destroy him," Claire said, her voice rising in panic. "Marco orchestrated a complete public frame-job!"

"We can't get into the board meeting upstairs," Henry said, his face pale. "Moretti’s armed men have locked down the executive floor. Security won't let anyone through without Marco’s clearance."

Claire looked at her phone screen. The live feed was already picking up thousands of views across social media channels, posted by a corrupt tabloid blog known for leaking high-society scandals. Comments were flooding in, calling Dante a monster, demanding his immediate arrest.

She looked at the three boys, who were watching her with anxious, frightened eyes.

"Claire?" Leo asked quietly. "Is Uncle Marco hurting Father?"

Claire looked at Leo, then down at her phone.

In the modern world, power wasn't just held in mahogany boardrooms with armed mobsters. Power lived in the palm of your hand.

"Henry," Claire said, her eyes blazing with sudden, brilliant realization. "Is the foundation’s main broadcast equipment still connected to the ballroom's main stage screens?"

Henry blinked. "Yes. The key note presentation is scheduled in ten minutes."

"Give me the master login," Claire demanded.

Without waiting for a response, Claire pulled out her phone, switched the camera to front-facing mode, and hit Go Live on the official Rinaldi Children’s Foundation verified social media page—a platform with over two million global followers.

She pulled Leo, Gabriel, and Mateo close to her.

"Hello, everyone," Claire spoke directly into the camera, her voice ringing with clear, unwavering authority. "My name is Claire Beaumont. For the last four months, I have been the live-in caregiver for the Rinaldi triplets. You may have seen a fake, edited video circulating in the last ten minutes trying to ruin Dante Rinaldi."

She held the phone steady as the viewer count rapidly exploded from hundreds to tens of thousands per second.

"This is Leo," Claire said, placing her hand on the boy's shoulder. "Leo, tell the world who gave you that scar."

Leo stepped right up to the camera lens, his small face firm and fearless. "My Uncle Marco caused the car crash that killed my mommy. He left us on the road. My father, Dante, protected us every single day. He built a wall around us so bad people couldn't hurt us."

Gabriel and Mateo stepped up beside their brother.

"Our dad is a hero!" Mateo shouted into the phone. "Uncle Marco is a liar!"

Claire looked straight into the camera lens. "Right now, upstairs in the Plaza Hotel, Marco Rinaldi and Don Vincenzo Moretti are attempting to blackmail Dante Rinaldi into surrendering his children's inheritance. If anything happens to Dante Rinaldi tonight, the world knows exactly who did it."

She handed the phone to Henry. "Stream this directly onto the fifty-foot LED screen in the main ballroom downstairs right now!"

Henry typed frantically on his tablet.

Within thirty seconds, Claire's live broadcast—and the boys' heartbreaking, powerful testimony—was projected at maximum volume across the massive screens in the main ballroom below.

The entire gala went wild. Hundreds of high-society guests, reporters, and law enforcement officials stared up at the screen in absolute horror as the truth unravelled in real-time. The internet exploded. Within five minutes, #JusticeForDante and #ProtectTheTriplets were trending number one worldwide.

Upstairs in the private executive suite, Marco’s phone began ringing incessantly.

Don Moretti pulled out his own phone, saw the global viral stream, and turned to Marco with a look of pure, murderous rage.

"You idiot!" Moretti roared, throwing his phone against the wall. "The whole world is watching us!"

Before Marco could comprehend what was happening, the double doors of the executive suite were kicked off their hinges.

Dante stood in the doorway, backed by federal agents and NYPD officers who had rushed to the Plaza Hotel after watching the viral broadcast.

"It's over, Marco," Dante said coldly, stepping into the room.

Marco backed away toward the window, shaking hysterically. "No! No! It's a lie! She's lying!"

"The State Police forensic team just pulled the black-box data from Elena's car three years ago, Marco," Arthur Vance, the estate attorney, announced as he walked in alongside the police commissioner. "Alongside the wiretap recordings provided by Ms. Beaumont’s recording device during your conversation three weeks ago."

The officers lunged forward, slamming Marco onto the mahogany desk and slapping steel handcuffs onto his wrists. Don Moretti raised his hands slowly, surrendering to the federal agents.

Dante didn't even watch them get dragged away.

He turned and ran down the hallway, taking the stairs three at a time until he reached the VIP room.

He threw the door open.

Claire stood in the middle of the room, holding the three boys tightly in her arms.

Dante stopped, his chest heaving, tears streaming down his face. He walked over, wrapped his massive arms around Claire and his three sons, pulling them all into a fierce, unbreakable embrace.

"Thank you," Dante whispered into Claire's hair, his voice breaking with deep emotion. "You saved us."

"We saved each other," Claire whispered back, holding him tight.
