Chapter 5 - Midnight Flight

Pure chaos erupted. Esteban shrieked in horror, diving to the floor beside Tomás. He hauled Tomás up by his collar, shaking him frantically. "Tomás! What's wrong with you?!"
Esteban's eyes darted to the empty glass on the table, and then to me. A terrifying realization flashed across his face. He realized the glasses had been swapped.
"You..." Esteban roared, his face twisting into demonic rage.
"RUN, ELENA!" Lucía screamed.
Lucía grabbed my wrist, and we bolted through the kitchen door into the torrential rain outside. The thunderstorm was raging, icy raindrops hammering down like needles.
Behind us, Esteban’s furious roar echoed through the night: "ELENA! LUCÍA! I WILL KILL YOU BOTH!"
We sprinted blindly into the dense, dark woods surrounding the estate. Mud sucked at our shoes, and sharp thorn bushes slashed through our clothes, tearing at our skin. Adrenaline coursed through my veins, pushing me forward through the blinding storm.
"Where are we going?!" I yelled over the deafening thunder, slipping on the wet mud before pulling myself back up.

"To the old flour mill by the river!" Lucía called back. "I hid a spare phone and keys to an old dirt bike there three days ago! If we can reach the main road, we can get help!"
Suddenly, a blinding beam of light cut through the rain behind us. Esteban was hunting us down with a high-powered searchlight, gaining ground with terrifying speed.
