The Vale name had been completely erased from the building. The grand silver letters now read proudly: The Carter Global Foundation.

Celeste Vale was bankrupt, living in a tiny apartment, shunned by the very high society she had weaponized against me. Adrian was serving his time, a forgotten number in a state penitentiary.
Evelyn walked onto the balcony, handing me a glass of champagne. "The final restructuring papers are signed, Elena. The Carter fortune is entirely secure, and the board has just elected you Chairwoman for life. Your father would be so proud."
"Thank you, Evelyn. For never giving up on me, even when I had given up on myself."
"You never gave up, my dear," Evelyn said softly. "You just waited for the right moment to strike."
