Chapter 6: The Unraveling
Deep in the dark hours of the night, Clara and Julian worked alongside Leo via an encrypted video link. Leo’s fingers flew across his keyboard miles away, bypassing the firewalls Eleanor’s security team had hastily erected.
"Almost there..." Leo whispered over the speaker. "The Vance network is tough, but they didn't patch the secondary cloud API. Downloading the nursery feed from last night now..."
A progress bar filled the screen. When it reached 100%, a video file popped up.
Julian hit play. The audio was crystal clear. The footage showed Eleanor bursting into the room, her face distorted with aristocratic rage. It showed her grabbing Clara by her hair, violently yanking her away from the crib, and slamming her to the floor while screaming, "You are a disease in this family! I will break you until you crawl back to the gutter you came from!" It showed Clara curling into a ball, weeping, while baby Lily cried in terror.
And then, it showed Julian bursting in, saving his wife, and standing like a shield in front of the crib.
"This is it," Julian said, his breathing tight. "This doesn't just clear my name of any 'instability' narrative. This is evidence of corporate-sponsored assault and harassment."
"Don't just send it to the police, Julian," Clara said, looking at the video. "Eleanor buys the local police captains. Send it to the court of public opinion. If she wants to play with the media, let's show her how the internet responds to a monster."

Clara logged into her social media account—a simple, normal account that had been dormant for months. She uploaded the raw, unedited footage with a simple caption: “This is what happens behind the closed doors of the Vance luxury estate when a mother-in-law doesn't get her way. My husband and four-month-old baby were evicted into the street at 2 AM for defending me. Justice for Lily.”
Within two hours, the post had ten thousand shares. By morning, it was an unstoppable wildfire.
